About Mesilla Valley Record

Mesilla Valley Record covers Las Cruces, Mesilla, Doña Ana, University Park, and Fairacres, New Mexico. We report on local government, education, public safety, community life, business, and sports. Schools and teams serving local families remain in scope when they meet or compete outside these communities.

Our newsroom uses AI to assist with gathering information, research, and article drafts. Stories go to a human producer for review before publication. Kaitlin Atherton is the assigned producer. We prioritize primary sources, attribute factual claims, and distinguish confirmed information from matters still being checked.
